2J Angus is owned and operated by Chris & Lanna Jones.   We are located in Ogden Iowa right along Hwy 30 in central Iowa.

 

Chris has been involved in cattle his whole life, he started the Registered Angus Herd in 2002. He takes pride in the cowherd and is continually striving to make them the best. Our three children are 4th generation Jones at this farm, and they will be encouraged to continue the tradition.  We have purchased some of the very best females from some elite Angus dispersions to build the foundation of what the herd is today. 

 

Lanna is an Application Administrator with Farmer’s Mutual Hail Insurance in West Des Moines.  CeJay is a Sophomore, Dakota is in 8th grade, Dawson in 6th grade. 

 

All of the kids enjoy playing with the baby calves throughout the calving season and helping do chores.  As a family we enjoy going on road trips to the pastures through the summer and watching the calves grow into production Angus bulls and females.

Our children are able to play with the calves from the time they are born to the time they go on the sale or back into the herd. Often times they will pick a couple bulls to ride around.  We take a lot of pride in the docility of the herd and their offspring; we wouldn't own or sell anything that we wouldn't trust around our children.

 

We are die-hard fans of the Iowa Hawkeyes & Pittsburgh Steelers.  Some days if we could paint our farm black and gold I think we would!!  As a family we enjoy spending time with our family and friends & going camping & fishing.
